GLASGOW, Scotland – Ghanaian sprint star Benjamin Azamati has secured a place in the men's 100m final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, delivering another outstanding performance to keep Ghana's medal hopes alive on the track.
Azamati equalled his season-best time of 10.00 seconds in Tuesday's semifinal, finishing third in a highly competitive race despite running in neutral wind conditions (0.0m/s).
The Ghanaian crossed the finish line behind Cameroon's Emmanuel Eseme, who won the semifinal, and Australia's Lachlan Kennedy, who finished second. His impressive performance was enough to earn qualification for the final, where he will line up in Lane 1.
