President John Dramani Mahama has described the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration by Yonsei University as a bridge connecting Ghana and South Korea in their shared commitment to building a better global future.
Receiving the honour during a ceremony at the university, President Mahama expressed gratitude to the institution’s leadership, faculty, staff, and students for the recognition.
He specifically thanked the university’s Board of Trustees and its President, Yoon Dong-Sup, for the memorable occasion.
According to the President, the award reflects the growing friendship and cooperation between Ghana and South Korea.
“This honour you have bestowed upon me is one I accept on behalf of the people of Ghana as a symbol of the deep respect and mutual admiration between our two nations,” he said.
President Mahama noted that the recognition represents not only a personal milestone but also a reflection of the strong diplomatic and developmental ties between the two countries.
He expressed hope that the partnership between Ghana and Korea would continue to deepen, particularly in areas such as education, innovation, and economic development.
The honorary doctorate ceremony forms part of efforts by Yonsei University to recognise global leaders who have contributed significantly to governance, development, and international cooperation.
